Avatar Reality’s Blue Planet Heads for Greener Pastures… or are they?

On January 14, 2011, Avatar Reality’s CEO, Jim Sink spoke with the Blue Mars community as a followup to his Avatar Reality Restructuring blog post. Today would be the last day at the fledgling company for Mr. Sink, along with 50% of the team. Outside of serious bug fixes, the Blue Mars client will be going into a holding pattern…

As will the Blue Mars SDK. This, btw is what brought me to the blue planet. As with all startups, it’s always a gamble. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes, it does not. Will Avatar Reality make it in the mobile market? I’m am admittedly skeptical. We shall see.

NB: this post contains an embedded audio of today’s meeting in blue mars.

Yes Angela… that was why I asked to be accepted as beta.
I know how much time (and there comes a point in our lives where time may be a little more important than money) and money you spent on Blue Mars. I just commented on another blog about how I'm not interested in seeing my world reduced to a 10 X 4 cm screen.

The situation is unfortunate, but oh well. I have been expecting something like this for some time. Hence I had already begun shopping around other platforms. And yes, I will admit, I have no desire whatsoever to go back to LSL scripting. I hace teh lua bug! lol
